Irony/Comedy Gold: bitcoin.org: "Note that Bitcoin is not ruled by miners, and miner actions cannot be used as a justification to redefine Bitcoin", Bitcoin Whitepaper: "The proof-of-work also solves the problem of determining representation in majority decision making."

You really can't make this shit up. I'm actually astonished Core has managed to get so far with any considerable following with clearly and blatantly anti-Bitcoin stances intensifying every step of the way. They've made it official - they're trying to destroy Bitcoin as defined by Satoshi Nakamoto in the whitepaper, anyone who doesn't see this by now has to have mush instead of a brain.
WOW, that's some high level trolling of a $72 Billion network. Can't believe this is happening actually.

TEMCO will use proof of work (POW), a mechanism introduced by Satoshi Nakamoto of Bitcoin to create distributed trustless consensus and solve the double-spend problem.

TEMCO proposes to develop its platform on RSK blockchain. The benefts of RSK blockchain is fast transaction speed, low transaction cost, and high scalability. It is ideal for supply chain processes. Data is collected by scanning through the dApp provided by TEMCO at each point in the supply chain. The scanned data is stored in the blockchain via the TEMCO protocol and PoW. The information collected by TEMCO will be classifed as public or private information, and the public information that can be shared is stored in the blockchain through the TEMCO protocol.

Implementing a proof of any work algorithm using zk-SNARKS in order to solve research problems could greatly enhance the incentive to own bitcoin

if owning bitcoin meant you could have a vote in the kinds of projects that received the benefit of all the hashing power behind it, think about how many people would all of a sudden want to get involved. I think this could be bitcoin's killer App

Bitcoin Proof of Work How To Mine Bitcoin What Is Proof Of Work (POS) Why Does Bitcoin Use Proof of Work (POW)? - YouTube Consensus Algorithms, Blockchain Technology and Bitcoin ... Proof of Work for Bitcoin - YouTube

Bitcoin is a very energy-inefficient project as of right now. The proof-of-work aspect has been discussed many times over. It seems community members are now advocating to change this algorithm altogether. With mining centralization becoming a real problem, such a change is not necessarily a bad thing. Scrypt proof of work denotes the Hashcash proof of work using scrypt as underlying hash function. By using a memory-intensive hash function designed to reduce the efficiency of logic circuits, this was claimed to make only CPU mining remain profitable, even with the advent of GPU mining, and completely failed in that goal. Bitcoin uses the Hashcash proof of work system. One application of this idea is using Hashcash as a method to preventing email spam, requiring a proof of work on the email's contents (including the To address), on every email. Legitimate emails will be able to do the work to generate the proof easily (not much work is required for a single email), but mass spam emailers will have difficulty ... Proof of work (PoW) is a piece of information that is complex (time-consuming, expensive) to produce to satisfy particular conditions.Verification of that information however should be as easy as possible. The purpose of PoW (Proof-of-work algorithm) is to check if calculations were indeed conducted during creation of a new block of cryptocurrency.
